Men? We Don't Need No Stinkin' Men!

What say you ladies? What? No date for Valentine's Day (insert blowing a raspberry here-I don't know how to spell that). I believe I can safely speak for most of us; we don't need men. We do need friends and have a fair amount of those, one or two of them probably are dateless for Valentine's Day as well. I actually have known women who get depressed if they don't have a date for Valentine's Day! Pishaw! Celebrate yourself and your friends rather than this overblown Hallmark bow to St. Valentine!
* Do not succumb to the Hallmark Valentine frenzy!
* Do invite your girlfriends to join you for an evening of friendship and laughs!
* Do stock up on good wine!
* Do have a delicious meal and a lavish dessert!
* Do treat yourself to a box of your very favorite chocolate candy!
* Do giggle a lot and revert to being twelve years old again!
You may have so much fun that this could become an annual event! I wonder if they have a Hallmark card for that? The UN-Valentine's Day! Actually this sounds like a great time...maybe I'll kick my husband out of the house and invite my girls over, hmmm.

Men don't need, no stinkin' ladies, either. It just makes, cuddlin', huggin', kissin', so much better.

I believe the correct spelling for a raspberry, is....thhhuuuuppppp...That's how I roll it anyway.

Peace.

I haven't had an official date on Valentines day in 7 years. Now I spend it with my ex husband. I was able to choose the date of my daughter's birth and went for Valentines day since I figured my then husband would never do anything about it and that way I would always have something fun to celebrate. It works out wonderfully and my daughter thinks she is really special.

Uhm, I think I'm gonna have to disagree. :D

Great advice. Where's the party? I'll be there.

Speaking as a dude -- and totally as a dude -- is this little fantasy of yours going to involve a pillow fight, or is that just me letting my imagination run away with me again?

I'm all for the Pillow fight. But you have to use the one's with feathers in them.

LOL @ Mike WJ!

Great idea, now I just need to find some single lady-friends to join me.

I love this idea!

While I do have a husband who thoughtfully brings me flowers on V-Day, it's gotten kind to be kind of a boring routine. I think I'd have MUCH more fun at a girls-only party eating chocolate and laughing.

I'm going to pass this along!

My birthday is Valentine's Day so I have always celebrated with or without a man. Now, I am married, but I still make sure we stress the celebration for my birthday!

I've always done, "Pffftttt!" Not sure what the universal spelling for Pfft! is though.

I am all for this non valentines day thing. You know, my daughter knew the phrase, "I don't need no stinkin' man" by two years old. (oops)

No, women do NOT need a man to make them complete. And thanks to you, I see we don't need them for valentines day either. Pfftttt! :)
