Taking The Gold!

I'm nominating the trash can toss as the newest Olympic event. I guess this would be appropriate for the summer games. I know just the crew to win the gold too. They work my street every Monday and Thursday. Oh, they are shoo-ins, don't fool yourself. They've been practicing for years. They can fling a rubbermaid like nobody's business. Those cans will glide through the air elegantly and make a sound like cymbals crashing upon impact. It's like a street ballet.

You think you have a crew that could go up against my guys? Phhffft! Go big or go home, I say. My guys have a lock on the gold. I just watched them practicing out front. They're good, I'm telling you. Bring it baby!

And I say "why not?" It's got to be more interesting than "curling."

Damn! That pesky, brilliant Jayne stole my comment. I was going to say that if they allow curling, then why not trash-can tossing? Damn!

I think it sounds like a perfect event. i wouldn't nominate the guys who collect on my street though. They always leave the dam can right in the middle of the driveway so I have to get out and move it before I can pull in.

Definitely more interesting than curling. That Jane is smart. ;)

You are a NUT, but what a great thought for the Olympics huh? I know your guys would kill my crew. I live in the country so we don't have a "crew" just a guy in a truck with an automated arm that picks up the can dumps it and bam he's done.
Oh how I miss the city when they used to come around in the morning like 6 am and make all that racket, on purpose of course, to wake everyone up, lol. The dented cans. I remember, and this shows you how old I am, they used to come into our back yard and get the cans in back of our garage go bring them to the truck then bring them back in the back yard. Now those guys woulda killed your guys. No doubt.

I haven't seen that kind of trash man in years! Mine have it easy with the truck that lifts the bins up! I have no doubt yours are cooler!

I bet they practice at odd hours of the morning.

Mike, how could Jayne steal your comment if she got here an hour and some change before you did? Just asking.

How funny! I would never have thought of that event but then, our trash man just operates a lever in his truck that causes a mechanical arm to pick up our trash can and dump it in the trash truck. He gets really, really mad if he actually has to get out of his truck for any reason too.
