I'm Not Going To Talk About That Anymore

I'm sick of it I say! Sick and tired of reading and hearing and talking about Tiger Woods. Not going to do it anymore! Nope, I don't care really, how many women he's slept with. Maybe we should make a list of who he hasn't. He's a good golfer, lousy husband and, yes, a lousy father. Look what he's exposed his wife and children to, the attention, the loss of any privacy. Tiger, you and I are done!
Climategate? I'm probably not quite done with that. Not surprised, I never bought into global warming. I have long believed that Al Gore is a self serving sham. Over the past several years my beliefs have been satisfactorily verified, to me anyway. I have had many discussions with a farmer friend of mine. A man who lives by the weather. He doesn't set any store in global warming, as I suspected. I do think someone (many someones) need to pay a steep price for using these scare tactics and lies on the people of the world. Shameful! But for now, I've had enough.
I think I'll put a movie on, something festive, White Christmas maybe. I'm going to wrap gifts, beautiful packages with glittering paper and fluffy gold bows. I'm a gift wrapping FREAK! The package must be breathtaking! If they aren't hesitant to rip it open then I did something wrong. It's almost time to start making cookies, some pumpkin rolls. I saw a couple of things I might try this year. I saw a picture in a magazine of a "partridge in a pear tree" which is made with cupcakes. Cupcakes decorated with green, leafy looking, frosting, then stacked. There was a partridge and several pears formed and resting on the cupcakes. I think fondant would work well for the pears and partridge. Really cute! I heard a good idea for serving fresh vegetables. On a platter, arrange fresh broccoli florets in a wreath shape, decorate with red bell peppers cut into whatever shape you like. I'm sure you can toss a few other things in as well. Cucumber slices would be pretty, also a small bowl of dip in the center of the wreath. Yep, I'm going to try both of these.
What are you planning for this year? Any special dishes planned for a gathering?

Look what he's exposed his wife and children to? I'd rather not, thank you very much. Like you, I'd much rather look at nicely wrapped Christmas gifts, and perhaps watch a good Christmas movie, and enjoy a partridge in a pear tree made out of cupcakes. As long as somebody else makes it. I don't have time for it, and unseasonable heat's made me irritable. ;)

That is a beautiful wrapping job. Can I send my gifts to wrap? :-)... I second the motion of not talking about that person anymore. The media is doing enough talking for everyone.

I think I'll just hang with my friends and family. I'm having a nice Christmas dinner with shrimp and a standing rib roast. For New Year's Eve, I'm going to a wedding.

I totally agree. I'm done talking about him. I would much rather spend my days wrapping. I think I'll add a few more flourishes to my packages this year. It's about time for me to start making chocolate truffles. Hope you have a happy holiday season.

I can't watch the news much anymore. There is just too much attention on things I don't care about.

I'm wrapping presents today too, but I'm not so fussy. I just need to see how much more shopping I need to do and be done with it.

Enjoy "White Christmas". I love that movie. Hope you are singing along!

At how many bimbos does the Tiger Woods saga cease being of interest? Twenty? Two hundred? I lost interest at ten. I'm with you. Give me more Christmas cheer.

I'm with you! I could care less about the who is doing who.

Fa-la-la-la-la.

I'm all for the Christmas cheer too. Bravo for posting this.

Have a terrific day and weekend. :)

You really do all that? I am in awe of all you crafty, cooking, baking folks -

I only listen to news about four legged Tigers - I'm done with listening about two legged ones. Festive news is much better such as cookies and pumpkin rolls! Enjoy the holiday spirit!

I love coming to your blog, I always know if there are things that need to be said you will say them, just as I would if I weren't afraid of offending anyone.

I don't wrap my packages in traditional wrapping paper. I have gone green and use newspapers or more often paper grocery store sacks. I'd like to say I make them all pretty and festive but really I just toss the gift into the bag and call it good.

I get this from my father who was always forgetting things until the last minute and a bag had to suffice. When he retired he had more time to find someone to wrap his gifts (usually me) but so many people were used to his paper sack that he went back to that way of wrapping.

From laziness comes saving the planet. But I guess we aren't talking about that either.

Good for you just concentrate on what is important in your life and what matters to the people around you. Other people unless they are hurting the people we love or physically hurting someone else as far as I am concerned is none of my business I am not a judge and I certainly hated being a juror, I am not God. They will have their own judgment and that's not up to me. Have fun with your weekend.

OK I think the partridge in a pear tree and the wreath idea sounds great!
You could totally carve little poinsetta blossoms from the peppers (if you any good that is)
I wont be around to see them in person so we better get some pics on here!

I agree; I am pretty darn tired of the "Tiger Tales" myself (all right already). Sounds like your Christmas is going to be one culinary masterpiece after another (Yummy! :o)

I've always been skeptical about the whole global warming thing myself. Iguess that's not a popular opinion for someone who writes a nature blog. But I have been reading some very valid arguments against it from a lot of respected scientists for years. They have always claimed that they were threatened against their opinions. I still listen to any logical argument for or against though.

From the way this entry started, I thought you were going to complain about Christmas and presents! :D

You just reminded me that I'd like to make a couple of pumpkin rolls. I've only done that once, but oh man, were they good!
